CME completions submitted to ACCME PARS on claim

Build the credit from the activity ACCME already holds, collect learner permission in the claim step, and keep every submission on file.

How it works

From connection to record

1
Connect once

Your PARS provider ID and web-service credentials; we activate the interface with you.

2
Map three registration questions

Date of birth, state of practice and license number.

3
Enter the PARS Activity ID

Title, hours and dates fill in; certifications arrive as sub-credits.

4
Learners register and claim

Licenses are validated at registration; permission is given on claim.

5
Check the record

Every submission is in your reporting history.

A learner's completed course after claiming credit
One connection

Every license you submit for, on one course

Several boards

Each learner is reported under the board matching their license.

Several certifications

They arrive with the activity as sub-credits; one credit reports the set.

Nothing retyped

Refresh re-pulls the activity after you change it in PARS.

Audit-ready history

What was sent, per learner and across the account.

Our deadline for submitting our CE accreditation audit was yesterday. You have no idea how many times I have said a quick prayer of thanks for LecturePanda while working on it. I can’t imagine having to complete the assessment without it! It would have actually been impossible for me.

ACCME PARS reporting questions

Looking for the PARS login?

ACCME's PARS portal is at accme.org. This page is about software that submits to PARS for you.

How do CME providers submit learner data to PARS?

LecturePanda submits CME completions to ACCME's PARS through the PARS web service. When a learner submits their credit and agrees to reporting, LecturePanda sends their name, date of birth, license or board IDs, completion date and the activity's credits under your PARS Provider ID, and keeps the submission in Credit Reporting History. ACCME issues the credentials, and we activate the interface on your account with you. See the PARS setup guide.

What learner data does ACCME PARS require?

LecturePanda collects the learner data PARS uses through three registration questions you map: date of birth in MMDD format, state of practice and state license number. Providers who report to certifying boards add a question for each board's learner ID under Configure Boards. With the learner's name, those details are checked with PARS at registration, and a mismatch shows "Invalid License Number & DOB Combination" on the form so it's fixed before the learner enrolls.

Does LecturePanda handle MOC and several certifications on one activity?

Yes. When a PARS activity carries several certifications, such as AMA PRA Category 1 credit and ABIM MOC points, LecturePanda brings them in with the activity as sub-credits, each with its point value, and one credit reports the set. Each learner is reported for the board certifications that match the board IDs on their registration, with boards including the American Board of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Pathology and Surgery.

Can we pull an activity's details from PARS instead of retyping them?

Yes. In LecturePanda you enter the PARS Activity ID on a credit, and the activity's title, contact hours, release and expiration dates and certifications fill in from PARS directly. Because the credit is built from the record ACCME already holds, the two stay in step, and the refresh icon re-pulls the activity whenever you change something on the PARS side. See PARS activities and credits.

How does a learner give permission for PARS reporting?

LecturePanda asks each learner for permission to report to ACCME PARS on the last step of the course, as ACCME requires. The learner chooses "Yes, report my applicable credits to ACCME PARS" or "No, do not report any credits to ACCME PARS" and completes. Beyond that choice and the questions mapped on the registration form, nothing extra is asked of the learner or of you.

Can one CME course report learners with different licenses and boards?

Yes. One LecturePanda course reports each learner to PARS under the license or board that matches them. Configure Boards lists the licenses and professions you submit for, each learner gives their state of practice and license number or board ID at registration, and the completion is reported with those details. A single PARS connection covers every course and every board you report for.

Where can we see what was submitted to PARS?

LecturePanda keeps every PARS submission in Credit Reporting History under Reports & History, alongside every other accreditation, filterable by date range, by accreditation and by errors or successful submissions. Download All exports the reported credits for an audit, one row per participant completion. A learner whose submission hits a problem sees it on their completion step, with the detail. See Credit Reporting History.

Can we test PARS reporting before going live?

Yes. The PARS connection in LecturePanda has an Environment setting of Production or Test. With Test selected, activities are read from and completions are submitted to ACCME's PARS test environment, so a provider can check the configuration, the mapped registration questions and a sample claim before switching the connection to Production.

Who uses LecturePanda for PARS reporting?

LecturePanda's PARS reporting is used by ACCME-accredited CME providers such as medical societies, health systems and academic medical centers. An organization can run PARS beside ACPE, CE Broker or a Spreadsheet Report, and a single credit can carry more than one accreditation, so an activity for physicians, pharmacists and nurses is one course build.
