CE Broker Setup
What you configure once for CE Broker, and why the setup asks about boards and professions before it asks about courses.
CE Broker is used by state licensing boards to track the CE their licensees earn. Providers reporting through it get two things from the connection: license numbers verified at registration, and completions filed on their own.
For anyone reporting by hand today, the validation is usually the bigger win. Wrong digits, stray spaces around designators like "RN", and learners who pick the wrong professional code are the ordinary causes of upload rejections — and all of them get caught before the learner is enrolled rather than weeks later in a rejected batch.
Worth a setup call
CE Broker has more moving parts than most connections, because it flexes by board and by profession. We're happy to walk through your configuration with you — get in touch and we'll book a call.
Configuring the connection
Go to Organization Settings → Accreditations and add an accreditation of type CE Broker.
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Upload Key | CE Broker's term for the credential used to submit completions — it works like a password |
| Provider ID | Your CE Broker Provider Tracking number. Enter only the digits after the 50- prefix |
| Parent Provider ID | Optional. If you're set up as a parent provider reporting on another provider's behalf, your own tracking number goes here |
| Reporting Boards | The boards you report to |
| Reporting State Field | Appears once you select more than one board. The registration question that tells us which board to report a learner under |
| Sync Reporting States | Keeps that field's choices in step with the boards you've configured, so the two can't drift apart |
| Configure Professions | For each board and profession you report, which registration field holds that profession's license number |
Why professions are configured separately
Different professions carry different identifiers, and boards ask for them differently. Configuring per profession means your registration form flexes to match: a pharmacist type collects the pharmacist license number, a nurse type collects theirs, and each is validated against the right board.
That's also what makes multi-profession programs practical — one course can serve several professions, each reporting correctly, without a separate build per audience.
Which states use CE Broker
Boards adopt CE Broker independently, and some use it as an option rather than a requirement. Your board is the authority on whether and how you report through it; the boards you select in the configuration are the ones LecturePanda submits to.
